NEWS: The 215th entry in the Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Netherlands has been announced: Gregorian chant, silence and turmoil by Karolus Magnus. In addition, the Demoscene, the Twentse Krentenwegge, the Mourning and healing rituals of the Ndyuka, the Amateur gardens in Alkmaar, the Melkbus shooting in Kampen, the Gregorian chant, silence and turmoil by Karolus Magnus, Broderie d'art and the Heerlijkheden of Sinoutskerke and Baarsdorp are also credited in the Inventory. Read the press release here, more information about the assurance plan can be found here

  • Free portfolio work and research: within the infinite possibilities that needle and thread offer me, I always look for the limits of manual work. By connecting different handicraft techniques, I develop surprising possibilities and my own handwriting. Read more about Monique's textile development

  • Education/courses: Broderie รก la carte, I offer individual embroidery lessons, courses and masterclasses tailored to the wishes and skills of the student. If you first want to come and have a look and get acquainted, make an introductory appointment via This email address is being protected from spambots. • In the workshop you can find an extensive range of embroidery threads and haberdashery for embroidery d'art, gold embroidery and other embroidery techniques. A selection of this range is also for sale on the WEBSHOP, it is still under construction and is still being expanded.
  • Sustainability, because embroidery in itself is so labor-intensive, I still choose brands that have proven their worth, I try to sell as many European yarns as possible to reduce the transport burden as much as possible, I also buy vintage batches if possible to limit the production of new materials.
  • Second chance materials and tools: recently I started selling handicraft materials and tools that have been bought before, so I can develop a wider range and contribute to reducing textile waste, and hopefully also create some awareness... If you have orphan materials yourself, for example from an inheritance or a closed hobby or studio, please contact me, perhaps I can include your materials in my collection.
  • Moniquenwerk blogs! my blog about embroidery.... Everything that comes with it, pieces of history.... basically everything I tell you along the way during my lessons between the instructions....

Moniquenwerk Broderie d'art can be found in the center of Tilburg, only a 5-minute walk from the railway station, in the middle of the Dwaalgebied with artistic and original entrepreneurs. Parking in the Knegtel parking garage, a 5-minute walk from the workshop
